TWELVE POINTS! DELIFONSECA TO HOST EUROVISION WINNERS EVENING FOOD TASTING WITH LOCAL CHOIR

Award winning Brunswick restaurant Delifonseca will be rehearsing their best vocals and perfecting their worldly food knowledge as part of a special Eurovision inspired evening this Friday, May 12.

Accompanied by the vocals of local choir Singing Our Socks Off, the event, which kicks off at 7pm, will showcase a whole host of dishes from the countries participating in this year’s competition.

The eclectic menu stars Ukrainian classics such as Olivier Potato Salad on a shared starting platter to start and is followed by a main course option of Ukrainian Plov – a traditional chicken and rice dish served with toasted sunflowers seeds and fennel sauerkraut. Delifonseca’s chefs have curated a menu that plays on hits from across the globe, while also featuring previous winners.

Proprietor Candice Fonseca said: “In true Delifonseca style, we’ve decided to create a menu that pays tribute to the biggest musical event in the city this year.

“We wanted to devise something that’s both playful, jam packed full of flavours, while paying homage to some of the best dishes that have come out of the countries competing. It was also really important to us that we showcased local talent too, so the evening will be the perfect way for both our regulars and visitors to Liverpool to celebrate what is sure to be a brilliant few days.”

Singing Our Socks Off is an inclusive community choir that welcomes and encourages singers of all levels and abilities. They have performed at some of the city’s most iconic venues such as the Bombed Out Church, Strawberry Fields and Sefton Park Palm House.

Candice added: “As a city that boasts culture and music, it feels only natural for us to reflect that in our kitchen and deli. Eurovision has attracted thousands of visitors to Liverpool and we need to make the most of that.

“With our newly enlarged restaurant, it’s now a perfect venue for live music and celebrations. We think that the choir will get the place rocking as they sing through some of the classic Eurovision winning songs. With food from around the world and a classic Eurovision soundtrack – we are celebrating
history in the making and there’s no better way to spend Friday night than getting in the mood for Saturday’s Grand Finale.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and one that we certainly want to stand proudly behind with the rest of our city.”

The menu will be available at the dockside restaurant from 7pm, on Friday 12 th of May.
