Fresh images of Liverpool Boxpark as project progresses

Plans for the 16,000 sq ft leisure venue at Cains Brewery Village have been submitted to the city council as the venture gears up for opening next year.

Working with architect BDP and planning consultant Quod, Boxpark has worked up designs for how its first complex outside London will look.

Boxpark will take over Canning Hall, a space currently occupied by Red Brick Market, which will relocate to another site a short distance away.

Images accompanying the Boxpark planning application show what the Liverpool site will look like following the company’s planned £3.5m investment.

The scheme would see the creation of a “high-quality food and beverage venue with a central eating piazza”, according to Quod.

This space will be designed so that it can be configured to hold events and entertainment such as pop-up markets, art and fashion shows and music events.

A mezzanine level will provide 7,700 sq ft of additional space within the unit while an outdoor terrace is also proposed.

Boxpark signed a 15-year lease on the Liverpool site.

The company opened its first site in Shoreditch in 2010. A further two London venues have launched in the intervening years, one in Croydon
