New trailer released for Avatar: The Way of Water

The film will come out on 16th December 2022

The first Avatar film was met by huge success when it came out in 2009, quickly becoming the top-grossing film of all time and earning numerous awards for its visual effects and cinematography.

Following a 13-year wait, the second Avatar film will come out on 16th December, and a new trailer for the upcoming film has now been shared, along with the film’s poster.

In the upcoming film, James Cameron will transport the audience back to the magnificent world of Pandora in a spectacular and stirring action-packed adventure, and we get to see a bit of what’s in store in this new trailer.

In celebration of the new video, a spectacular light show took place at the Niagara Falls earlier this week, with highlights from the film projected over the iconic waterfall.

Back in April, the House of Mouse announced that the sequel to Avatar would be called Avatar: The Way of Water. The first glimpse of the film was then shown at CinemaCon, before being shown at the cinematic release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on 5th May, followed by a teaser trailer.

Fans of the film have long awaited a sequel and will be pleased to know there are another four films planned for the franchise.

While working on Avatar: The Way of Water, film, director James Cameron has also been making the next three films; Avatar: The Seed Bearer, Avatar: The Tulkun Rider and Avatar: The Quest for Eywa, back to back.

Avatar: The Way of Water is due to be released in cinemas on 16th December 2022, and with filming underway for the following sequels, we won’t have to wait long for the story to continue. The 3rd, 4th and 5th films are due to come out in December 2024, December 2026, and December 2028 respectively.

When it is released, Avatar: The Way of Water will be available to watch in 2D, 3D, IMAX and high-frame rate.
