Paul O’Grady has died at the age of 67. He passed “unexpectedly but peacefully” on Tuesday evening.
He started his career in the 1970s as a social worker and a pub entertainer, before becoming a regular on the alternative comedy circuit.
Paul O’Grady rose to fame in the 1990s with his own TV shows, such as The Paul O’Grady Show, Blankety Blank, and Lily Live.
He is also a passionate animal lover and advocate, who hosts the award-winning documentary series Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs
Mr O’Grady lives in a farmhouse in Kent with his husband Andre Portasio,
He has one daughter, Sharyn, from a brief marriage in the 1970s, and two grandchildren, Abel and Halo, whom he adores.
